Passenger ferries (click here for timetable) leave from downtown Auckland, with frequent sailings daily for a 35 minute journey with panoramic views of the city, Rangitoto and other islands.

Most sailings are met at Matiatia Bay by buses (click here for timetable), shuttles and taxis. The bus service has two main routes covering the most populated areas of the island.

A vehicle ferry (click here for timetable), which also takes foot passengers, makes several sailings daily from Half Moon Bay, Pakuranga.

A passenger ferry between Auckland and Coromandel also makes regular stops at Waiheke (click here for information).

Local air services (click here for info) provide scheduled and charter flights to Auckland and other Gulf islands.
